Reflecting on 2018 ... review of the year

As the year draws to a close - I find it is good to reflect upon the last twelve months and look forward to what the new year will bring...  Here are some of my highlights of 2018 -

The beginning of the year is always a busy time, in January we started our sale and the new season deliveries began to arrive...

In February, Eden was joined by our latest intern Nikki, studying fashion management at RGU in Aberdeen.

It was also trade show time - I visited Pure and Moda and myself and Nikki went to many buying appointments too!

March saw the more of our new season deliveries arrive, again busy unpacking, steaming and merchandising the stock, despite the snowy weather this month.

In April we held another fashion show inside the boutique (I hobbled on modelling, despite having torn a ligament in my foot and was in agony).  Even so it was a great success  though it was a bit of work to get organised!

May was time for a little mini break, so we nipped over to Spain for a few days to enjoy some blue skies and sunshine.

June was spent researching new labels and planning for the next season ahead.

in July it was independent retailer month with independents day on the 4th of July (of course!)

August was tradeshow time again, this time buying for Summer 2019!  We visted Pure in London

October brought darker days and nights but more of our Doris and Dude socks certainly brightened up our feet!

In November we held a party to celebrate 15 years for Eden, quite an achievement especially in the current retail climate

Lastly in December it was time for some festive shopping at our late night evening along with many other neighbouring businesses

What are your plans for the year ahead?

Roll on 2019!
